The story
Walter Chell mixed this for the opening of a restaurant at Calgary's Inn on the Park in 1969, blending his own clam-and-tomato Clamato from scratch before Mott's picked up the idea and bottled it. It outsold the Bloody Mary at home almost immediately and has been Canada's bar standard ever since.
