Bourbon
America's native spirit. It must be made in the United States, at least 51% corn, and aged in new charred oak; over 95% comes from Kentucky. Bold and sweet with vanilla and caramel, it's our go-to for an Old Fashioned.

Made in Ireland, usually from barley. Exceptionally smooth, with caramel, butter and nuts. A creative swap in a lot of classics.
Made in Scotland across five regions: Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside, Campbeltown and Islay. Aged at least three years and wildly different region to region. Try it in a Penicillin or a Rob Roy.
Made in the US and Canada under different rules, but usually spicier and less sweet than bourbon. Great when it's playing alongside other ingredients, like in a Vieux Carré or a rye Old Fashioned.
