The story
A struggling vodka importer and a ginger beer maker teamed up in 1940s Los Angeles, each trying to move slow-selling stock, and the copper mug was basically a marketing gimmick that outlasted everything else about the launch. It is a big part of the reason vodka became popular in America at all.
